Itinerary

Upon in Waingapu, your guide will greet you. Afterward, you’ll be transferred to your hotel for check-in. In the afternoon, visit Prai Natang Village, perched atop a hill with breathtaking views of the valley and river below. As you pass through the spirit gate, you’ll see traditional houses and experience the authentic way of life in this serene village. Return to your hotel in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, embark on a journey to the traditional villages of Pau and Rende, passing through Melolo. Here, you’ll see royal tombs made from megalithic stones and traditional houses, some of which have walls crafted from buffalo skin, used in ritual ceremonies. The trip continues with a visit to a Mau Jawa village to witness palm sugar production (during the dry season). Return to your hotel in the afternoon

After breakfast, drive to Waikabubak in West Sumba, approximately 137 km away (about 4 hours). Along the way, stop at Kampung Pasunga to see the grand stone graves and traditional houses of the West Sumbanese people. Upon arrival in Waikabubak, check in at your hotel . In the afternoon, visit Prai Ijing, Kampung Tarung, and Waitabar, where you’ll see traditional houses adorned with buffalo horns. These villages are also the site of the Wulla Poddu ceremony, a Merapu New Year’s celebration held every November.

After breakfast, set out for Wanukaka, with a short stop at Lapale to take in the stunning view of the vast rice fields with Wanukaka Beach in the background. yOur next stop is Kampung Waigali to see the Skull Tree, an altar used in ancient headhunting rites. then visit the Pasola field at Laihuruk and Kampung Praygoly to view the oldest stone grave, “Watu Kajiwa,” believed to be the ancestors’ boat. The tour continues to Lamboya, with stops at Waiwuang, Waruwora, and Wuntalaka villages. In the afternoon, relax at Marosi Beach or Lai Popu Waterfall, where you can swim or simply enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

After breakfast, head to Kodi, located two hours west of Waikabubak. visit Rotenggaro and Tossi villages, known for their traditional Posala events held every February. Lunch will be served at Pero Beach or Waikury Lagoon, where you can admire the Sumbanese traditional village with its iconic thatched-roof houses towering up to 10 meters.

after breakfast at your hotel, followed by a visit to Katewel to observe local salt production using traditional methods. you will also visit the Sumba Cultural Houses Museum and the Talasi Foundation to see how cashews are processed into fresh milk. afternoon is free for you to relax on the beach.

After breakfast at your hotel. Spend the morning at your own pace until it’s time to transfer to Tambulaka Airport for your onward flight.
