Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Pangkalan Bun Airport, you will be greeted by your guide for a direct transfer to Kumai. Upon arrival in Kumai, you will be swiftly transferred to the houseboat. Afterward, embark on a scenic boat ride down the Kumai River for about 15 minutes until reaching the Seikonyer River, the main river in Tanjung Puting National Park. Cruise upstream along the Seikonyer River, you will have the opportunity to admire the lush vegetation lining the riverbanks, including Nipa Palm, Pandanus, and various trees native to the region. Keep an eye out for the diverse wildlife that inhabits the area, such as birds, macaques, Proboscis monkeys, and orangutans. If time permits, you will visit the Tanjung Harapan area for an orangutan feeding session. Afterwards, return to the boat and continue upstream to observe and learn more about the fascinating Proboscis monkeys along the riverbanks. These endemic animals are unique to Borneo and offer a captivating sight. Dinner and overnight accommodation will be provided onboard the houseboat.

After breakfast, journey up the river to Pasalat Camp, where you’ll embark on an 800-meter boardwalk hike. At Pasalat Camp, you’ll have the unique opportunity to plant endemic fruit trees, contributing to the park’s carbon offset program. This initiative not only helps to replenish areas affected by forest fires but also provides essential food sources for the park’s wildlife. As these trees grow and undergo photosynthesis, they’ll produce oxygen, effectively offsetting carbon emissions.

Afterwards, return to the houseboat and continue your journey upstream to Camp Leakey, Upon arrival, you’ll have the chance to visit the Information Center, where you can learn about the groundbreaking work of Dr. Birute Galdikas and her pioneering research on orangutans since 1971.

The afternoon will be spent observing orangutan feeding sessions and exploring the surrounding forest. then boating down to Pondok Ambung, where, if time permits before dinner, you can embark on a two-hour trek to spot nocturnal animals such as tarsiers and tarantulas.

Return to the houseboat for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, cruising down the river to reach Pondok Tanggui, the second rehabilitation center for orangutans. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to witness orangutan feeding. After enjoying the feeding session, return to the houseboat and continue your journey downstream to Tanjung Harapan village.

In the afternoon, we’ll explore the activities of the Malay settlement in Tanjung Harapan village and to witness the last orangutan feeding session of the day ,Back to the boat and cruise down to the enchanting Nipa Palm area to witness the mesmerizing spectacle of thousands of fireflies lighting up the night. Dinner and overnight.

Early in the morning, after breakfast on board, embark on a direct transfer to Lopus Village by private car, a journey that  takes approximately 5 hours. Upon our arrival at Lopus Village, sightseeing around the village, exploring its cultural and natural attractions. In the evening, after dinner, you’ll be warmly welcomed by the Dayak Tomun with their Bagondang ceremony. This traditional ceremony offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in Dayak culture, where you may even join in the traditional dance

After breakfast, drive up to Muhur Village, which serves as the starting point for our trekking adventure. The journey to Muhur Village will take approximately 1 hour from Lopus Village. Upon arrival, commence your trek into the forest, immersing yourselves in the pristine beauty of the oldest primary forest in Borneo.

As you will  trek deeper into the forest, you will encounter several small rivers flowing from the main forest. These rivers boast crystal-clear water, perfect for taking a refreshing dip or enjoying a soak.

Upon reaching your camping spot for the night, Stay overnight

After breakfast, embark on a trek to the waterfall, where you can enjoy swimming and basking in the natural beauty of the area. Spend quality time here until we return to the Muhur area, where your car is parked. Drive back to Kudangan and Pangkalan Bun, a journey of approximately 5 hours.

After your breakfast at the hotel, you’ll have free time to relax and explore at your leisure before we transfer you to the airport for your next destination.
