Itinerary

Upon arrival at Pangkalan Bun airport, your guide will meet you and escort you to Kumai. Embark on a picturesque 15-minute boat ride across the Kumai River, then journey upstream for about 2 hours to reach the National Park.. In the afternoon, explore the Proboscis monkeys’ habitat. Overnight stay onboard, surrounded by the tranquility of the river.

After breakfast, Cruising up the river to Pasalat Camp. Here, you’ll embark on an 800-meter boardwalk hike, with a 200-meter ground walk, participating in our carbon offset program by planting endemic fruit trees for orangutans. This initiative aids in reforesting ex-fire areas, crucial for the park’s ecosystem. Then heading straight to Camp Leakey. Visiting the Information Center to delve into Dr. Birute Galdikas’s pioneering work with orangutans since 1971. Then trek into the forest to witness orangutan feeding. Back to your boat and navigate to Pondok Ambung. If time allows before dinner, embark on a 2-hour trek to spot nocturnal creatures like Tarsiers and tarantulas. Return to the houseboat for dinner and overnight stay

After breakfast, boating down to Pondok Tanggui, the second orangutan rehabilitation center. Witness the orangutan feeding then continue downstream to Tanjung Harapan village, where you’ll observe the activities of the local Malayans in the afternoon. Afterward, cross to Tanjung Harapan Camp for the last orangutan feeding session at, Back to your boat and cruise down to the Nipa Palm area to witness the mesmerizing sight of thousands of fireflies. Overnight stay onboard, surrounded by the enchanting glow of the forest.

After breakfast, boating  down to Kumai and then transfer you to Pangkalan Bun Airport for your onward journey.
