RAIN FOREST & MAHAKAM RIVER HINTERLAND TOUR 10 DAYS/ 9 NIGHTS
DAY 1 : BALIKPAPAN - SAMARINDA - MAHAKAM RIVER
Upon arrival at Balikpapan airport,Meeting service and directly transfer by bus to Loa Janan,then boarding house boat for exciting adventure on Mahakam River. On the way ,you are going to see beautiful scenery on the left and right side of Mahakam River. Overnight at Houseboat.
DAY 2 : MUARA MUNTAI - TANJUNG ISUY
Morning Arrival at Muara Muntai,sightseeing in the village . Crossing the river to Jempang lake to reach Tanjung Isuy. Overnight at Long House.
DAY 3 : TANJUNG ISUY - MANCONG - MUARA MUNTAI - MAHAKAM RIVER
After breakfast,by motor canoe cruing up to Ohong creek visiting Mancong Dayak Village witnessing the the amazing Grand Long House, On the way to Mancong cruising the river, if lucky the Bekantan(rare species of monkey) could be seen. Return to Muara Muntai and cruise up Mahakam river by houseboat to Melak. Overnight on the boat.
DAY 4 : MAHAKAM RIVER - TERING - LONGIRAM
After breakfast, full day cruising up the Mahakam river , passing villages with beautiful Panorama along the river. Meals and overnight on the boat.
DAY 5 : LONGIRAM - DATAH LAMA - RUKUN DAMAI
After breakfast, short sightseeing in the village ,then continue the trip up to Mahakam river. Overnight at houseboat.
DAY 6 : RUKUN DAMAI - LONG BAGUN
After breakfast, if condition available the next trip by motor canoe to see beautiful scenery and hard current rapids. Meals and overnight at local house.
DAY 7 : LONG BAGUN - RAIN FOREST - MAHAKAM RIVER - TERING
After breakfast, soft trekking in the jungle for 1-3 hours ,then return to the houseboat for Tering Village. Meals and overnight at houseboat.
DAY 8 : TERING - MAHAKAM RIVER - TENGGARONG
After breakfast, by car visiting Eheng village(old long house) and Ombau Asa waterfall ,relaxing and swimming is save. Then proceed to Melak where the boat already waiting for TENGGARONG
DAY 9 : TENGGARONG - SAMARINDA
After breakfast, visit the former palace of sultan Kutai Kartanegara. Witnessing the Sultans impressive collection of hairlooms, china ceramics, dayak art and culture items. Return to Samarinda. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 10 : SAMARINDA - BALIKPAPAN - NEXT DESTINATION
After breakfast, free at leisure till time to be transfer to the airport for next destination.
